Day 1 : Arrival in Dakar
Welcome at Blaise Diagne International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Dakar. Check-in and rest. Free discovery of the capital depending on arrival time. Circuit briefing with your guide.
Day 2 : Dakar – Gorée – Pink Lake
Visit to Gorée Island (UNESCO) and the Slave House. Discovery of Dakar: colonial quarter, Kermel market, Monument of the Renaissance. Road to the Pink Lake. Visit to the salt flats and observation of traditional salt extraction.
Day 3 : Pink Lake – Gambia (Coast)
Departure to Gambia. Border crossing with assistance. Discovery of the Gambian Atlantic coast, beaches and villages. Check-in in Gambia.
Day 4 : Exploring Gambia
Visit to Banjul: Arch 22, National Museum. Discovery of Katchikaly (sacred crocodiles) and Monkey Forest. Albert Market. Immersion in Gambian life.
Day 5 : Gambia – Kolda
Return to Senegal from the south. Road to Kolda through green Casamance. Village stops and local encounters. Check-in in Kolda.
Day 6 : Kolda – Wassadou
Road east to Wassadou on the banks of the Gambia River. Pirogue excursion: hippos, crocodiles, monkey colonies. Sunset on the river.
Day 7 : Wassadou – Niokolo-Koba
Entry into Niokolo-Koba National Park (UNESCO – 913,000 ha). First safari: buffalo, baboons, antelopes, possible elephants and lions. Camp inside the park.
Day 8 : Niokolo-Koba Safari
Full-day safari. Exploration of the park's different ecosystems. Observation of big African wildlife and over 330 bird species. Night under the stars.
Day 9 : Niokolo-Koba – Kédougou
Road to Kédougou through mountainous landscapes. Stop at a Mandinka village. Visit to a traditional gold-panning site. Arrival in Kédougou, "Land of Men".
Day 10 : Kédougou – Dindefelo Waterfall
Excursion to the Dindefelo waterfall (100 m). 1h30 hike through tropical forest. Swimming in natural pools. Picnic near the waterfall. Check-in at Dindefelo camp.
Day 11 : Bassari Villages – Kédougou
Discovery of the Bassari Country. Visit to the perched villages of Ibel and Iwol. Meeting with the village chief. Preserved animist culture. Traditional architecture. Return to Kédougou and local market.
Day 12 : Kédougou – Tambacounda
Road north. Crossing the gold-mining region. Visit to megalithic sites. Village stops. Arrival in Tambacounda, the road junction. Visit to the historic station and market.
Day 13 : Tambacounda – Palmarin (Simal)
Road to the Atlantic coast and Sine-Saloum Delta. Stop in Kaolack and its market. Arrival in Palmarin (Simal), a natural paradise between sea and mangroves. Eco-lodge check-in.
Day 14 : Palmarin – Relaxation
Relaxation day. Pirogue through the mangroves. Serer villages by cart. Salt harvesting. Wild ocean beach. Nature reserve and baobabs. Sunset. Last Senegalese evening.
Day 15 : Palmarin – Airport – Departure
Final free morning in Palmarin. Road to the airport. Possible stop at Fadiouth Island and Joal fishing port. Check-in assistance. End of trip. Farewell Senegal and Gambia!
